Hey humans! It’s a sunny yet somewhat windy start to our day. And we’re like about an hours drive away from the spot that makes my kids super happy.
Sunday Miles city to Billings was rough for me. Maybe not exactly the location I was in but my mental state. Maybe that’s how I react to being patronized, maybe it is the stars having an affect on my body and things around us. I’d just downloaded a voice recorder to be able to document my driving thoughts and I spent quite some time yelling into it. I don’t want to transcribe it right now since it’s early and I don’t need to. I’ll save this for tomorrow or the day after.
The gist of the matter is that I published a blog where I said I “tone down my kindness when old men pull up as to not be too inviting” I should’ve said that I tone down my kindness when any man pulls up, though someone suggested I should’ve said “dirty old men.” The person complaining, a self proclaimed old man apparently, said I was to be nicer to my fellow travelers because he felt insulted by my statement. I have a lot of thoughts about this, but I’d rather get into it at a later time as there are a million thoughts to it.
ANYWAYZ! We made it to Billings and sat at the truck stop for a little while. Noone helped us there and so we moved on over to the Walmart where there were not only nice people, but also a nice kick down right off the bat. In the morning we moved to a conoco town pump and the management was the best people. The employees too! Store policy is generally to not let panhandling commence on their property at all, but these awesome people told me we were welcome to sit where we were ass long as we didn’t approach the pumps or doors with intent to spange people. I said those were my general guidelines anyway, I just hope people come up to me to help. Before leaving, the manager came out himself and said he was glad to do what’s right and helpful. Especially if it didn’t infringe on any of their costumers. Very smart people considering that if they’d kicked me off property I would’ve been forced to get my fuel elsewhere instead of putting our money right back into their business. Apparently having something as cool as Bugus sitting at a store can be seen as so desirable that (someone told me recently) some texan stores have been known to pay art cars money just to have them sit on their lot for a few hours.

So lalala the wind picked up as we were going down the highway and I figured it’d be safer to sit in Columbus at the playground until it died down just a little. The kids were happy to run around a bit. After they were tired out, we pulled over to the truck stop hoping for the wind to calm down or some donations. I did end up making $10 at the playground and 0$ at the truck stop. But the aim was just to sit out some wind.
After dinner I didn’t want to sit in that town any longer and we drove until I didn’t want to anymore as it was kind of a slow move against some wind.
So here we are in Big Timber. There’s a visitors center right off the highway, but it also has a sign that says no overnight parking, right next to a sign that says “You’re only regret will be that you didn’t have more time here.” In my mind, my regret is that that sign exists. The kids would’ve loved to look around there during the morning time instead of being couped up in the bus until I finish my writing because we’re at a truck stop right next to train tracks. I still would like to go check out that visitor center, but I feel less inclined to do so since it’d be an extra stop that we can do when we don’t have an infestation.
So, we’ll be heading into the Bozeman Belgrade area where I’ll be utilizing a laundromat after purchasing black trash bags to begin the process of saving our clothes and blankets and curtains from the fire that will consume the bugs if we do it all right. I don’t know what I’m talking about or how it’ll turn out but I’m gonna get it soon!!
There’s a new facebook group of Single skoolie Mom’s and I’m very happy it exists while I’m also a bit sad that I didn’t come up with that group myself. Oh well. I already feel like there are some very cool humans in that group.
The kids want me to get going and I want to get going too. So BYYYYE!!!
I mean stay grateful and share some smiles!!! We love you!!
