It rained during the night and now the sun shines again and is promising for a beautiful day!! I already went for a morning run and did dishes and cleaning and healy. The kids just got up and are ready for another day.
Yesterday we went to the Kentucky Horse Park. We arrived around 11. The guy at the front desk managed to be aware enough to spell out pony rides, which I knew the kiddos would go wild for, so I said that we better do that! There’s so much to do, we could’ve spent days there! There was a Big Barn with Draft horses, a champions barn for winning horses, a breed barn with two daily shows of fancy horses with dressed up riders, a kids barn filled with everything about horses on kid level with lots of interactive spots, the Mounted Police barn, the international museum of the horse, a saddlebred museum, two gift shops, two theaters, Cafe, Restaurant, Horseback riding and pony riding next to a playground and a big field for events. I’m sure I missed something, just like I missed things by browsing through it.

The kids were SO into it. They pet so many horses and Galixy said she wants to work with them when she’s grown. Atreyu picked up a brochure for the Pony Club and I’m seriously considering looking into purchasing them memberships if they are able to utilize them from chapter to chapter. It would be super to be able to find camping spots in vicinity to the kids having various riding lessons.
At the Saddlebred museum, there were some lovely ladies who’d seen us exit Bugus and loved it! Women get especially excited about me not waiting to find a man to take us on my journey. The lady working had such lovely energy and vibes. She kept smiling at us and assuring me that the kids were ok to be wandering the way they were. Galixy chose a foal surprise memorabilia of our time there and when we went up to pay for it, the wonderful human had already prepared our bag with some gift coloring activity books, temp tattoos, and a small stuffed unicorn. The kids were so happy. I’m so happy that our village helping me out comes in small and big gestures from so many lovely people. This world is such a beautiful place!
So we stayed there most of our day and then drove a bit further north. I stopped in Dry Ridge for a playground. I parked at an incline (if that caused the ensuing problems I’m not sure….) Anyway. the park had a skatepark, tennis court, playset, pond, etc. The kids were already worn out from our full day of running around, but the dogs really needed some exercise, too. Gizzi was pulling like crazy, so I commanded him to “show me his belly” as a sign of submission, he half did the thing, so I grabbed his paw to get him all the way into position to which he squeaked as if I was hurting him. This grandma of a woman got all grumpy at me. I was like “it didn’t hurt him. He’s a terrier puppy” to which she rolled her eyes and kept mean mugging me.
My anxiety got escalated and so many people around the playground were smoking cigarettes and the kids were getting tired grumpy and then I was finally getting out of that spot and situation and the stupid bus wouldn’t start! The negative terminal needed tightening, though in the process of figuring that out (maybe it was somehow also not getting fuel though the tank was close to full) I emptied the battery. I tightened all the bolts I could and then had this lovely city worker guy help jump start the bus and vroom out of there.
We’re in Florence just south of Cincinnati. The plan is to go to the zoo. I kind of want to do that today, but I also kinda want to take the time to go to the laundromat and/or work on some video editing.
Currently I’m doing the p-p dance and the kids are playing with little figurines. Today is a good start. It will be a beautiful day.

I do hope you’ll be having a great day yourself.
