#5521 Nicholasville

Good day to my lovely people. Lawnmowers are very rood getting paid to mow the little grass next to the bus and taking forever to move on. I’m mostly concerned that they’ll wake the kids before my coffee is cupped and my brain a bit focalized.

Yesterday I wanted to go to that Dollhouse museum, but unfortunately for me, they stay closed for covid. So we left Danville around noon and headed to Camp Nelson Park up the road a bit.

The weather had a break in the rain and I shooed the kids out of the bus to walk around this civil war historical sight. There are lots of signs with information about what was where though the only real buildings are a big white house, visitors center, and a building that looks like reconstructed barracks. The grass super green, lush, and, to the kids dismay, wet from the rain. Atreyu called himself a cat multiple times saying that cats don’t like the wet.

While there, I made the acquaintance of Loran, an author who takes care of his elderly mother and gets flack for “being crazy.” We speculated together on what “insanity” actually is and many other things. Traded information before he headed back to his place.

Atreyu took the pic cause the selfie stick needed charging

From there we drove to a playground in Nicholasville. Galixy kept making friend after friend, first at the skate park, and then right by the fishing pond. There’s a lot of lovely people in this town. A mama jumped her fence just to come talk to us and offer hospitality. The mom of Galixy’s skatepark friend posted and tagged our bus (I followed her back) and would’ve loved to talk to her more, but we were having company by a woman that goes by TJ who is neurodivergent, maybe? She signs awesome cause she has some hearing problems. She’s a very nice human, though a bit pushy, maybe? I’m kneecapping my assumptions here. I felt pushed when she asked if I shave and I said “no, I don’t subject my body to those beauty standards because I’m very comfortable being an adult without razor burn.” To which her response was that I could surely afford the razor at the dollar store. I tried to explain my thoughts on it some more how hairless bodies were marketed to increase razor sales and that I’m certainly not emulating my body to look like a prepubescent girl. She asked “not even your armpits?” to which I just raised my arms and shook my head. Blew her mind.

Anyway, we saw a really cool art car here too, posted to the instagrams and facebooks. https://fb.watch/5iiWUtk7_t/ He has a whole 101 dalmations.

I feel like that’s all I have to tell right now. My coffee tastes as if I forgot to check for dirty water in my heat up cup before pouring coffee in, so I’m waiting for fresh stuff to be done steeping. I do feel the need to go to a laundromat, though, less because I just did laundry at Turtles. I should’ve plugged in the ozonator on the bus while we were at a safe house spot. Maybe I’ll hit up the lovely fence-jumping momma from yesterday. I was hoping for a super sunny day today but I’ll settle for the cloudy with a chance of sun later promised.

I do hope you’re having a wonderful day! I hope you’ve found a smile somewhere in this wroting.
