Hello all! Thank you so much for oining my journey! I had quite the treat of an adventure that started in the Walmart parking lot. I had pulled into that parking lot just to over night and maybe see the beach in the morning or something, but the people there are such a great community.
First Brian stopped and helped out with some cash and snacks and water. He ended up stopping by in the morning the next day to deliver the message that I’m quite facebook popular and a lady offered a spot to park and shower and do laundry. It was beyond sweet but the other person who’d stopped by, by the name of Todd and his wife Colleen, had not only offered such but also had prepared a wonderful spagetti dinner with absolutely delicious salad and had made those amenities available as well!
Todd and Colleen deserve beyond a paragraph, not only for feeding us and purchasing the power steering pump that had gone out in the bus! They are an elderly couple that works as a ministry. They were originally from Tennessee but after hurricane Katrina they felt the call to pack up all their things and go help with all the people and recunstruction. They packed their 3 children up into an RV and did just that. They’ve been down here ever since and help with as much as possible. They’re children are now grown and promoted the sweet couple to grandparents. They now live in a house provided to them by the ministry. They are very sustainable, loving, earthly humans. I am so blessed to have crossed paths with such amazing beings.
So, I was gonna get this new powersteering pump and I know where that thing is and had a comprehension that this job was beyond my doing it myself from the get go. I messaged my friend Oryan who was in Kentucky helping out a friend. I told him I had a spot here to replace the thing, too, and, bless him, it took him a day to decide and subsequently make it down to me, too, the first part was apparantly the shortest, but it includes getting ready and a half a day drive to get to us. He arrived in the wee hours of the AM. We had a nice morning with a bit of catch up and soon we made it to Todd and Colleens and worked a few hours with Oryan doing all the technical stuff and me assisting with anything I could (especially getting the hoses off and back on since I have ample experience with that now.) The project was finished right in time for the bad weather to get in. Oryan and I got cleaned up and thanked Todd for all his help.
Oryan took the kids and I out to Waffle House for dinner, then we drove up the coast a bit to the Walmart with beach front property in Christian Pass. We took the chance for a beach stroll the next morning before heading up to the De Soto National Forest, POW airraid camp for a couple of nights down time. Oryan set up his tent and we put a tarp over Bugus’ entry way for comfortable sitting. The first night we had some intense thunderstorms but on the second night we had a nice fire. It was a beautiful place for walking and exploring. Galixy found her butterfly wings and flew around the woods all day. Atreyu took a good half hour to sit and animal watch. He said he only saw a lizard, but I thinl that’s because he was daydreaming.
This morning we packed everything back up and headed to a laundromat before shopping at Winn Dixie. Now we’re sitting at the beach, a quick break before parking at a Walmart for the night that is not far from a Vw show happening in southern Biloxi tomorrow. We were pointed to it on multiple occasions so I feel like it’s a place we should really go check out.
So that’s where we’re at. I have some company as Oryan would like to have a taste of traveling in our style. Since he’s got a personal SUV and is also on board with a fancy kid excursion like Harry Potter world I definitely don’t mind. His pleasant and helpful dispsotion definitely don’t hurt.
I don’t think I’ve introduced him properly. He’s a 32 year old vet based out of Maine. He’s an astrological Virgo that’s about being kind to others. Conversationally humorous and likes a good project. A great addition to any caravan. I’m very grateful.
O that note, I want to remind you all to be grateful. And share some smiles. Do check out where we’ve been and share with the icons below:
