Loops in texas

I know it’s been terribly long since I’ve written anything. Right as I changed our plans. I got a lot done, let me tell you that much. I was considering a camera, right? Then the thought of a better phone with better camera occured and I wasn’t far from the mobile carrier upgrade deal anyway. I feel a bit ironic having a new cool camera and then not immediately taking a million pictures and videos, but on the other hand, despite the case, I feel anxious about it breaking somehow. Have to get a better feel for it still.

So the plan had been to go east through Houston but then we turned around completely making plans to see the circus near Austin, which is close to my friends so it was a good excuse for a visit and making an appointment for Gizzi, the dog’s, neutering.

When we got to Brenham, we got snowed in but had a handful of very nice interactions. So it delayed our drive a bit, but we had a warm cuddly day in the bus… with leaks. It was so dark and gray that by dinner time we were out of power and I made pizza by candle light and flashlights. It wasn’t bad. We got through all right. Not as if we’d run out of propane.

In Austin, I went to the Habitat for Humanity, Napa Autoparts, Post Office, cell phone store, and grocery shop. I felt super accomplished with all the errands run. My bus was a mess with all the anticipation for projects. Then we headed up to Spicewood.

The quiet solitary property we visited in December was non existent. Everything came to life with the presence of the children. We didn’t get to see the youngest, but it’d been 2 years since we’d seen the other 3. The kids are amazing individuals. The daughter is currently experiencing pre teen angst wondering if being bratty to be popular would pay off. I’m rooting for her to get through this quickly. She’s got some good support to sort that out. The eldest was super helpful with my kids keeping an eye on them while I was working on projects like oil change and fixing the powersteering pump, building the kids seats up higher and taking out the cuddle corner and putting in more flooring panels…. The youngest boy is a bit older than Atreyu and they got on swimmingly when not distracted by their own emotional dilemmas. I was so happy to get to hang out with Molly some more. We click on many levels, but I’ve always had so many long periods of time between us hanging out with too short of togetherness intervals to renew my feeling of awkwardness. I hope I’m over that forever. haha. Her partner was around more this time, too. He mumbles hilarious stuff. Very sarcastic and concise. They are a very cute couple and seem to have some solid heads on their shoulders. I enjoyed the company. I could’ve probably spent a lot more time there. I feel like I could invade their space and chill for a couple weeks with all the kids present.

But I had made circus event ticket plans for Sunday so that we’d be in line at the proper time for Gizzi’s appointment on Monday. So on Sunday I tied the last ends in knots, stopped by the Pedernales Farmers Market before heading to the Cirque Italia!

I bought the kids popcorn, cotton candy, sprite, and some light up toys. If we’re gonna do a show experience, we’re going to do it right! The food and toy kept Galixy mostly occupied when she got restless. Atreyu loved the show in general. It was all acrobats and no animals which is the best kind of circus anyway. No sad animals.

After the show, we drove out of town close to the county vet clinic, so I got up before the sun and brought the puppers to the clinic. He was so unhappy about someone trying to take him from me, so I put him in the Kennel. Then we spent the day at the park and grocery store eagerly waiting for the time to pick him back up again. He’s such a poor dog. He’s taken only a few steps but prefers to stand, sit, or lay down. He’s been quite the opposite of his usual self. Quite lethargic. He freaks out about the cone but won’t walk up or down the steps. He prefers being put on the couch seat next to the stove to standing on the floor. He’s acting very spoiled, but I feel bad for him. He whined a lot last night and apparently kicked Atreyu out of his bed. He went and cuddled Galixy. Poo dog. He’ll be sleeping next to the stove tonight. He hasn’t eaten, drank, or peed. I’m a bit worried, but he seems to be healing fine. He may just be acting cry baby. He’s been taking his meds like he was supposed to, so it can’t be that bad. Other dogs walked out normally.

I’m feeling all kinds of sluggish. Like all my energy has been sucked away. Not sure if it’s a lack of water, or like I’ve been drinking too much coffee lately. Or like I got a lot done, or really shouldn’t play any video games. I need edit some videos. So much work to do all the time. So many whines to contend with. I’m feeling blown away to how my kids are developing characters and who they’ll be in the next day, month or year. Edwin said they were cool, so I trust his perspective.

So what are we doing now? Heading on east. I’d like to find a nice campsite for a night or two. Also I could use some fuel currently, but dinner is planned for, I think the spot we’re in won’t bother us for the night either. We can always do a bit more work and school work at any rate.

Anyway, thanks for being here and following our Journey! I hope you’ve got stuff to be grateful for and find a smile to share.

WE LOVE YOU!
