Victoria-Schulenburg-Columbus Texas

Hey lovely beautiful human beings! It’s a beautiful evening here and I have had some busy times to report about!

Victoria was absolutely beautiful. The Children’s playground by the river walk and the Deleon Plaza was grande, I made a video on youtube for it. Atreyu and I were very sad to miss the Childrens interactive museum there, but I just felt pulled, and so we drove north.

Piloting towards Schulenburg for their painted churches. Actually a big reason I decided to include the painted Church was because a bit more North Easterly there’s a castle to be toured and that’s exciting in so many ways. It’s a newly built castle, but not like a modern mansion…. I’ll be getting into that when we get there more, I’m just so excited for this Atlasobscura.com find.

Anyway, the Schulenburg church, St. Mary was painted by German and czech immigrants and it’s very reminiscent of the low key catholic churches in Europe. The kids behaved themselves respectfully and quiet. Galixy had a million questions once we got back outside. Like “How did that guy get so bloody.” So we sat at a picnic table and talked about Christianity a bit. I don’t really think that religion should be included in this blog just to stay neutral about it. In the most general terms I believe that whatever YOU believe will be a somewhat manifestion, because reality is perception and we really see what we know, and as long as your beliefs don’t harm anyone, hopeful do the opposite of helping not only your mental state but leads you to reach out further, I’m gonna be rooting for you and your success and comfort.

So, I’d expected this church visit to take a bit longer than it did, so we headed to a playground and I did more video editing and looked up another thing the kids may like. Schulenburg has surprisingly much to do for such a little town. I decided the Stanzel Model Airplane museum was the best option.

I was not mistaken. Two lovely older ladies were manning the building. The exhibit starts with a 10 minute movie. We saw most of it before the kids got too rowdy. There’s also a little factory to look at and then the ancestral home of the Austrian immigrant grandparents of the stanzel brothers. It was beautifully curated and I could definitely see how comfortably they lived for their time. The kids got workbooks and a mini beechwood model plane. If I’d had my way those planes would’ve been put up and saved for a good day, but Atreyu kept an eye on it until my eye was off and had the plane built in no time… and broke it almost as quickly, empowering Galixy to also not only build hers, but also break it to pieces.

So we drove on to Columbus and parked at the HEB grocery store for the night. A couple of guys came by and gave me some hints on what I can do with my overdrive acting up. I really appreciate their tinkers tinkering.

In the morning, today, we had a calm morning, finishing the youtube video of the Lexington. Then we headed to the only marked playground on the map here. I was planning on just letting the kids run a minute and then heading closer to the castle thing, but my plans tend to be pretty loose.

Good thing for today. There were a handful of momma’s and they all were dressed stylish and seemed intruiged by Matilda and us in general. They were full of great ideas and loving words. One of the mom’s, Gina, asked if I knew where I was going to stay tonight. Obviously, I honestly said that I had no idea yet. She made a phone call to her husband to confirm that their BnB spot wasn’t let for the night, yet. In fact, it’s supposed to be empty until the weekend.

This spot, though! They let out a hand built treehouse along a creek with a fire pit, hot tub, pizza oven, kayaks, swings, and more. It’s SO beautiful! Gina and Matt have 3 kids, one of which Galixy had already befriended at the playground. These people are super humans, though, and I’m beyond grateful for their hospitality.

Another of the playground mama’s, Olha, messaged me to put me in contact with a newspaper guy that’d like to talk to me. We’ll see what that’s all about, I could use some marketing strategem.

This property has amazing energy. I just yawned but I’m also feeling very energized. Like my to-do list isn’t unmanagable. Like I could do more things today. Like I can look into the future…. almost. I’m excited to see what my dreams will be like here…

I’m excited to see where the journey goes in general. It might be a feeling I have often, but it’s still pertinent.

I hope you’re grateful.

May you share a smile.
