Honestly we’re not far from Corpus. This is a chill little Walmart right North of Corpus. We need to get some type f transmission fluid, or power steering fluid before heading up further. But don’t let me get ahead of myself, because we’ve just spent a long time in Corpus, meeting cool people and seeing the cool things around town.

Christmas was spent on the Padre National Seashore. Our entry pass expired the 26th so we headed back into town. We went to the Cracker Barrel and enjoyed a nice dinner. Dakota, a cool kid who works at Target and helps his adults at home. He brought delicious Tamales, bananas, bread and fixings, and some cash! I got to hang out with him a little bit, moving the kids bedtime to a little later than usual, which they enjoyed very much!
In the morning, we drove to the botanical Garden. The guy working the ticket booth was very friendly. Supposedly he usually works with the birds, and if this isn’t an indication of how gentle his mannerism is, I don’t know what would be. The plants were amazing, but the birds were the best part! Most of them had signs with not only their names but their likes and dislikes, like Jelly Bean likes to say ouch so much that he’ll nibble your finger to get you to say that, but his neighbor, Sweetie, came right up to the wire and kau-taued letting me pet her head. Another liked dancing to “Somewhere over the rainbow.” Oh and the reptile house, all the people were super cool and helpful! Atreyu pet a turtle and Galixy tried to pet every reptile but loved the horned lizard best. It was a great walk.
After that we went to a playground to chill, and then spent the night at the Cracker Barrel again. And in the morning we went to see the USS Lexington, which is a huge labyrinth of exhibit.

My phone storage is so low on space that I’m playing app tetris to get these videos produced. I’m in the midst of the Aquarium video, then there’ll be a beach video of solstice and christmas, the botanical garden and the Lexington. So I’ve been working like non-stop trying to get all the things edited, wrote up, and shared, in between of feeding and distracting the kids.
Currently the kids are listening to Percy Jackson and the lightning thief. I mean, Atreyu is listening. Galixy is just wandering the bus and playing little games between trying to convince me that Candy is for breakfast or just have my attention. Galixy is really working on sounding out the letters and beginning to read. Sightwords here we come! Rhea is being very awesome. Gizzi still has another 11 months of being a terrorizer, but he’ll get it soon enough.
I could really really use a shower but all the truck stops are inland and I want to go along the coast. I could rent a hotel room, but I dislike spending money on hotels, mostly because I prefer sleeping in Bugus and the dogs are extra charges as well as SO much fun bringing in and out of hotels. The hotels best perks are the bathtub/shower and the kids love the TV.
I really need to sift through the kids toys and get rid of the surplus they never play with. Declutter! My motto since october.
We’ve been blessed here in Corpus on many levels, but all the attractions really break this momma. I want to put the kidsseats up higher. So I’m mentally configuring building up ontop of what I have or pulling it out and putting higher feet. Maybe they’ll be able to see out better and I’d have another storage spot. I was gifted a drill, so I may dream of these things.
Galixy is really pushing to have me finish up. She wants me to purchase Quaker Chocolate chip granola bars and I need that fluid.
I guess I better get on going. Holiday moods getting me lazy, but I’m trying to get back on it.
I appreciate you being here! I hope you’re feeling grateful or have a reason to smile.
I also hope you go check out the youtube, gotta find an outlet that’ll power my little laptop, or get an inverter that’ll power it XD I also dreamt 2 nights in a row that I’d purchased a camera. Like one of those camcorders, but that’s useless when I can’t utilize the laptop off my inverter, though I half assume that a bigger inverter could use mor battery power too… I also thought about the wiring we currently have going on and the bit of adjustment I’d like to make.
Sidetracked… Check out how we’ve gotten here on the linky below or share our story with someone you love.
