It’s a beautiful day. The sun is out and sky is clear. Low wind but not too hot thanks to a little cold front coming through. I remember speaking to someone not that long ago about letting them know when we’re in Ponchatoula. I’ve been searching all kinds of social media and just can’t find the lovely human being I’m trying to reconnect with. I’m hoping that posting will lure them out of the woodwork! Hello, lovely! I haven’t forgotten completely! I thought we spoke on Tiktok? I saw horses on your profile?
We left Nola yesterday. It was a lovely busy time. I still have some processing to do. But it’s become very clear I’m avoidant and fear confrontation. I still feel like I will address my problems but the whole processing thing. I want to be concise and not hurtful where I don’t have to be and I also don’t want to be so unintentionally either.
Atreyu had his birthday last Saturday! He’s nine now and it was super success! He’d been wishing for a switch and patiently waiting for one that apparently will never come. The way he spoke about it had become hopelessly despondent. I reached out to my family and made several posts including one on our fb page and y’all pulled together! I was so excited for this kid, I happy danced for days! I wrapped it in a bunch of different boxes until it looked like a huge present (which it is!) With all the donations I was able to afford him the true switch (not a lite or lux edition) adding a protective glass screen, case, and year protection plan! Michelle was the biggest contributor pushing us from a used console to a new one with protection. I’m so blessed to know such cool cind and caring cucumbers.
Atreyu wished for a dog themed birthday party. Which apparently isn’t a very commonly requested except for parties for dogs. So Turtle invited everyone to bring their dog, kid, and cat friendly dogs. It yielded 11 dog attendees which was fantastic! The kids portion of the conglomerate of birthdays was successful,! The cake song ovation was raucous. Jezebel and Cali were great additions to the kid play. And obvs receiving presents wasnt going to disappoint, especially this year. I’m so very grateful!
I guess I’d like to talk about the feelings involving leaving a spot we’ve been at for a while. It always feels somewhat heavy. Even though I’m excited to go adventure, I get heavy bouts of anxiety too. About feelings, friends and projects I’m leaving behind. I did a five minute anxiety meditation and ended up sobbing in the midst. Releasing, I guess since it did help. Packing up is quite a distraction though I delay departures for random reasons. Those moments of sitting in procrastination foster the anxiety. Driving also distracts feelings and recombobulation after arriving delayed my crying about missing my friend already, hollow feeling, like an unfilled cavern in our presence, a void of sorts. All their good qualities and kindness and beauty still present….
I guess I must continue on doing the school work with the kiddos. Atreyu got Snap Circuits from Papou and Mimi which he’s been using as school work! He wished for science projects for his birthday (cool wish) so Kayla, Rosa, and Jezebel got him a Volcano, puzzles, and wildflower seeds! Turtle got him a fancy sketch pad and new markers. He certainly got a few more gifts not directly school related. Glad I took videos to commemorate and remind me.

Obviously a lots been happening so I’m just negligently posting pix cause they’re worth more than most my words anyway!!

But also I have videos to be made into tiktoks and/or YouTube…. But concurrently you can find the unwrapping of the switch here: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTR7uBgKH/
Since I’ve said I would go help with school work Atreyu built two circuits successfully! Applause please! reading and following instructions by himself.
