Hello lovely people!Off the bat, I want to point out that I’m not in Salome, but I rather not currently reveal my exact locations. Not that I’m hiding, I’d just rather not. I did go through Salome and had a visit….

The desert feels very…. deserty. Desolate. Almost more so than I remember, but maybe my memory is skewed. I am trying to get out of it and stretching our pennies and miles…. but it feels like rough going, not like turbulent rough, but like the sea is too calm.
The sun is shining on me, but the wind makes it so cold. We can still see snow on the mountains and it gets below freezing during the night but at least it warms up in the day enough to be livable outside. We’ve been to playgrounds every day and taken nice walks.
Except whilst visiting Salome. We arrived in time for my friend, Mary’s birthday party! The kids were happy to play and I had a good time chatting and having momma time. I saw Peaches who heaped us in gifts like stickers and dog food. Manny, the strong arm and brains on the Bug project, lives out there as well. He was super excited to see us and Bugus.
We had a nice parking spot right by the fire pit. The sky was so clear and the stars bright. The kids stayed up very late enjoying their time with their friends.
Soup and her crew came out and we spent some time catching up. All sorts of people I hadn’t seen in a while were showing up. I think Soup took the most advantage to clear up any misunderstandings, but all in all it was cool to see everyone. And meet a few cool new people too.
Otherwise I’ve been keeping the kids busy with homework and exercise. We haven’t visited any museums or cool sights which is betwixing, but super low funds and an area we’ve spent a lot of time in…. and boundaries of warmth. I’m enjoying myself, just not as much about the where I am as the where I wanna be/ get to?
I did file my taxes so those should show up in about 3 weeks. I’m doing a lot of smiling and waving with little result.
A couple nights ago I gott an email from Jonah who saw us driving and wanted to try out his cool new camera on such a cool motive, so we met up and he kicked down a little cash for the journey. He even ended up going into the store to get the kids some matchbox cars and a half and half for my coffee. The kids took the cars to the skate park and let them ride down the ramps as races.
I flailed on seeing Sandy and I feel bad, but I was so tired and feeling super antisocial when we drove through town. She had a late work night and early morning…. Just all in all… I wish I could’ve seen her. She’s generally got such light it’s invigorating.
Otherwise…. unsure. Maybe it’s just the feeling today of flailing left and flailing right. I did manage to make a wrap for Soups friend, Turtle

But I didn’t take any pix in Salome of all the kids playing and growing together. It was a beautiful sight.
I really don’t know what I’m doing, but there’s certainly things to keep busy with until I figure it out….
