We are making moves. Not today though! We’re at a park, waiting for friend to get off work to head to have a nice night camping.
I saw a reel about being able to flip flop the dryer door, which I thought was applicable to my mom. It turns out, it’s applicable to my fridge more so. So that’s what I did this morning. Make a huge mess to make the fridge open into the bus instead of into the back wall. It was a project-er project than I anticipated, but it happened. Now more solid in one way, and a lil janky in another, but hopefully it makes more helpful than hurtful.
On our recent adventures, we hauled through New York state. Having some wonderful park stops and meeting some amazing humans, Like Vicki and Ted. They found us at Good Golly truck stop. We had a great chat and could’ve gabbed on for hours more. Such caring and kind humans. Those two had so many stories from living in a trailer and the state of New York’s weirdness on property regulation about it to Ted’s truck driving experience and plenty of stories of how they’ve been able to help their fellows along the way. Vibe spot on. Instantaneous familiarity. It was great sharing perspective. Truly blessed. May their life be filled with happiness, and our connection remain solid.
Moving on, physically and in words, we made it to Niagara Falls pretty late in the evening. Graciously that Walmart was cool for the overnight. In the morning we went to the Aquarium. That place was super pricey. They say all profit goes to the animals, which is great on the ticket prices, but does that include the parking?
The aquarium was small compared to others we’ve visited, but their displays were top notch and the penguin feeding and sea lion shows were on point. Very entertaining and informative.
Afterwards we went on a long walk up to the falls with the dogs. It was super crowded and that made dealing with the dogs and kids overwhelming at times.. Otherwise it was a really nice walk. I snapped so many amazing pictures and made some great videos.
On that front, I’ve been hearing often that there are humans who actually like my youtube things and on that I feel like I’ve been more than negligent on it. I have SO much footage. I’m out of google cloud storage, like almost 2k things aren’t backed up. Taking care of this phone is top priority. On that front. Not on the taking care of kids front.
Back to our travels. After walking the American side of Niagara Falls we went back to the bus and had to wait for hours before Mauve decided to return. I could’ve probably used that time to go to the gorge, but Galixy said her feet were hurting, diagnosis flat feet flopping like mine used to. So we used the time to relax. Mauve returned late in the evening so we simply headed back to Walmart.
The next day we went to the Eternal Flame Falls and had a nice short hike there and back. Also pretty crowded- – for a nature hike. But worth seeing. It’s a natural gas leak behind a little waterfall. The reviews on google said to bring a lighter in case it had gone out, so really a “perpetual gas leak” but that wouldn’t be as enticing a name as “eternal flame” so I get it.

Yeah, I just figured out the gallery thing makes the thing easier. That only took three+ years.
So upon suggestion I revamped the domain name on the driver’s side. My eraser blob turned into a feather shape and I went with it. It turned out so well, I feel like erasing the shoddy mountain scene with another feather. Maybe keep going until it looks like a bunch of feathers floating in the sun. Sun because of the sunny yellow back ground.

his is a very pretty playground. The people are super nice. The kids found some friends and we were offered lunch. I’m really not good at declining things, so I’m unsure of any of my half hints of saying things like “Thank you but they’re currently eating” were heard at all. We’ll see the continuation. Most likely they’ll eat their food and not be bothered, but there’s a possibility of the mentioned plates being carried over here. It’s a super kind thought and all, but we have fixings for the things we’re used to through the beginning and middle of the day. Once it’s evening time and you’ve maybe spoken to us about food, that’s the best time to bring food. During the day is more appreciation for water or cold drinks. Though, if I’m thinking about it, there’s no time of day that we would ever turn down a cheese pizza.
I feel like I’m sounding picky or ungrateful, which is not the intention. I’m super grateful for the thoughts and offers. I don’t want to be wasteful, and we’re low on space anyway.
So yesterday I contacted my friend here in Pennsylvania that we were encroaching on her area. It’s a little detour south, but it aligns with my wish to see people and more things in the country. Her property is inaccesible with Bugus so we’re meeting a bit North of her to go camping. She’s bringing her daughter, fishing poles and s’more ingerdients so you know it’ll be a great time!
On the future ahead of what I’ve roughly sketched out is hopefully a drive through Michigan to see that highly recommended north “isle.” Unfortunately, that makes Illinois a huge detour and I reached out to our family there to see if there may not be some way of arrangement for them to have a camping trip to meet up somewhere like Michigan or Wisconsin. I don’t wanna be within 500 miles and not at least give a shout of “We love you! Let’s try to find some time!” But obviously I understand that I’m pretty wishy washy and if I can’t show up on your doorstep to force our time, I won’t be sore if even a minor inconvenience or a simple “I don’t want to” keeps us apart. It won’t be construed as a “we’re not important” and hopefully I get enough grace in return, so we can find the time when it’s better again. As long as we’re communicating (I know, I’m a spaz about that too! Time and technology move wierd.)
Ok, I’ve rambled on now…. Still wondering why I shouldn’t take on a rider over here…….. Haven’t made any moves towards such, but still think having company would be nice….. Gotta point out that after I wrote that blog I had a few guys come up and ask if they could have a ride or caravan. Vibes weren’t right either time. I’m not just trying to find some bum rider to take up space in my ride. I already have no space, try and add a backpack and human to that? It’s gotta be a super hooman indeed! So those conversations go much like “Cool rig!”- “thanks!”- “looks like you go on adventures!” – “sure do!” – “Any chance I can fit in there?”- “probably not.” – “but I’m good company” -” no thanks.”
At one point Atreyu piped up from the back “What does that crackhead want?” Good timing and all. I’ unsure whether this kid was on drugs, but he sure was a jabbermouth. Felt more like young buck trying to impress, which really showed how little grasp of the world he had.
My kids have become more jokers lately. It’s wonderful! I think this is starting my favorite age of kid time. It’s been so hard with so little reciprocation. Not that I think it’s getting easier, but at least finding a little footing.
Ok, now I’ve really rambled on.
