Why has it been so hard for me to be consistent about writing? I almost feel like I’m writing the same things over and over, though it doesn’t feel like a repeat as I’m living it.
We went to Ruidoso and had a wonderful time at the Wedding. The kids got to have their first sleep over with other kids. Galixy had a great time with all the girls. Atreyu was stoked to see his friend Gauge again. I got to meet some cool new peeps and reconnect with some others. It was a good few days where I felt amongst my tribe.
The mechanism in the trailer door knob crapped out and the kids and I were forced to enter and exit through the little window of the door. A wedding guest, named John certainly tried his best to get it unstuck. In the end it wasn’t until I met up with peaches and he showed me how to jimmy the door with a card. Now I get to break into my trailer until we find a door knob. Probably at camping world or some other RV store.
So from Ruidoso we went through Socorro to Belen where we met up with Peaches and his new road dog, topher. I always enjoy Peaches company, so we hung out there for a coupke nights. He’s trying to make arrangements for his bus to get towed and is zooming around in a little truck trying to raise the funds for the move.
We made a quick detour to edgewood up the mountain before coming down to Albuquerque to see our friend Paulina. I also hit up Haley but apparently she moved to Las Cruces with her husband and kiddos. My other friend MJ apparently also went back to the cruces which wouldnt have helped me while driving through on the time crunch. However, when I revealed that I’d attended the recent wedding, she ended up telling me not to bother coming down, which I think very unfortunate. I don’t want to loose a friend simply for the friendships I keep. Especially when it was some kind of thing I’m not even involved in. Something I couldn’t even view from the fringes. I don’t like that my friends are fighting, but there’s not really much I can do unbidden.
Anyway. Galixy had her second sleepover with Paulina and Noa and Atreyu and I slept in the trailer with the animals. Gizmo took a chance and ruined the fly netting in the trailer again. Again, anyway…. Paulina cooked us dinner and had me go through some of her surplus stuff. It was a good evening of company. I can totally see Paulina being a part of whatever community I end up with.
On that note, I am considering finding myself a homebase. Not perse to settle down but a spot to call my own where I can plop others. Something with a couple of gardenable acres and maybe not too far from a pleasant smalltown or “easy enough access” to a metropolitan. Paulina’s vote is south valley of Albuquerque. I want water access nearby and less desert. Though this part of abq she currently resides in is also lovely. Right near downtown, Paulina has a knack for finding affordable cute housing. Currently in a little adobe shed seeming thing with plenty of outdoor for mid city and lots of coziness.
Currently we’re sitting at the park not far from Paulina’s, enjoying the morning sunshine while the kids run around. Galixy just hit her head on the corner of the cement. She’s gonna have a hell of a bump on her forehead. At least that means cuddle time. As quiet as it gets with Galixy during daytime.
Ok I guess I should really get to lifing. My dishes got started this morning and will hopefully get finished today too. We did laundry yesterday so at least we feel semi clean and organized.
I really need to get my valve cover gaskets done. Some mechanical things in general, like bleeding the break lines and an allignment.
