#91321 Heber Utah

It’s been a fluffing eventful week. I could’ve used a little less event or full, but the main thing is life goes on. It’s hard to think about where I left off because of the big scare we had the very next day.

We were flying high having some good times. The morning we were in Soda Springs we went to the Geyser there that shoots out every hour on the hour and then to Hooper Springs where natural Soda water comes out of the ground. From there we went to a different playground as I didn’t want to crash the wedding happening at the Springs. Then we went to the hardware and grocery store before hitting the gas station.

On our way out of town, I got pulled over for swerving a bit as I was still looking at the town. Those cops pulled the bus and trailer apart and found my little bit of marijuana (I’m being super honest here so don’t judge me for having it. Some people have a drink at the end of the day, some smoke some herb. It’s a way of getting out of reality and the reality I try to escape is the structure of society and how we’re all separated and alone….) and they almost took the kids and bus, but decided to let us go with a citation. I feel stupid writing this and I feel stupid for it even getting to that point. I could’ve handled myself better, but at the least we drove off from there and headed all the way to Preston where we went to camp at the reservoir for a night and did laundry at the little laundromat before heading in to Utah.

We stayed a night in Providence where this lovely lady filled our fuel tank. From there we headed to Heber.

The very first night in Heber, Rhea, my dog, disappeared within the time it took me to prepare dinner. I frantically searched all around the walmart parking lot and posted online on my facebook and joined the lost and found pets group of the county. I couldn’t sleep. Getting the kids ready for bed was a chore, but by the time they were tucked in, someone online let me know that she had been found and brought to the shelter. I was beside myself as the shelter isn’t open on Sundays and I really needed my dog back. The people were kind though and opened for just the time to get Rhea back to me. She was SO happy to be back in my arms.

Once Rhea was back with the family I felt super relieved and looked up something to do for us in the area. That’s when I came across the little railroad tours they feature in this town and a little more digging to find that it was beyond affordable to take the kiddos for a trainride, though it meant staying another night or two as the train didn’t run on the weekends. There’s also an aquatic center here that seems beyond amazing.

So today we picked up the Valve cover gaskets we need for the bus to stop smoking while climbing hills, then headed to the playground where we’ve been for hours now waiting for the train ride. I could’ve taken the kids to the aquatic center today but I wanted to take the dogs for a walk as they won’t be joining along for the train ride.

Two wonderful people we were blessed to meet was Erin today who grew up in a School bus and brought dog treats. She’d seen my post about Rhea missing and had been so concerned she took a little drive about town looking out for the little miss. She gave me her phone number and address in case we needed a spot to park and left it open for any future visits too! The other person was a dude named Cade who is a fabricator and we chatted for some time into the night when I couldn’t sleep about Rhea missing. A lovely interaction with a down to earth human indeed.

Atreyu wants to do homework so I’m trying to keep this time I invest in this writing short. I am trying to head to Dinosaur as it will surely delight my little dino nerd. If I told him where I was trying to go he’d be all up in arms for going ASAP.

We have been diligent with the homeschooling. I can be pretty proud about our effort so far. But the awesomest parts is the social aspects the kids have been getting to making friends at every playground we visit and especially today here in this cute city they’ve been having a long string of friends coming and going.

My feelings of soaring have vanished and we’re trudging but I feel it’s going to be ok. I’m very excited for the train ride tonight as I’ve been looking for a small excursion as such for a couple years now. After train rides it’ll be a challenge to find more horse rides and maybe a plane ride sometime. I’ve half considered settling somewhere for a bit to maybe pursue getting a pilots license but I’m unsure if it’s a pipe dream so far. It’d be cool and fun for sure.

I took a test today about my education level and according to such I should have a bachelors degree which I think silly as I barely graduated High School, but meh….

Ok ok. Imma drop some pix in here and do some editing but color this done.

I hope you’re grateful and maybe had as much eventing but more positively than I.

Loving Yew.
