First off, I wanna start by saying that I have a follower from China checking in every so often (I can only assume that it’s the same person?) and I really feel honored! Thank you for gracing my blog with your presence!
So, we awoke a little West of Albuquerque at a Walmart. Early morning dump truck grabbing the containers. It was pretty cold, but not supposed to start snowing until later. So I got up and went to pour some water into my kettle. As I was pouring I realized it was tinted a little yellow. The water jug was sitting behind me and the pee jug was not in the toilet area….. Yes, I had to clean out the kettle, still my coffee faintly tastes more bitter than usual and I just couldn’t…. ew.
It’s cold and getting only colder today. I decide to run in and purchase a new heater buddy since if it still wasn’t working and I could conclude it to be propane lines, I could still return the new heater. As I was preparing to go into the store, I realized my wallet was no where to be found. Queue 3 hours searching high and low, calling the gas station where I’d last seen it, organizing and attempting to get my kids to help look for it instead of just standing in the middle of the bus and trying to get me to supply them with “juice but warmed, bagel with cream cheese, pancakes! hot cocoa, MORE juice, a snack, a story please, why is my hot cocoa hot?, turn on a movie, a hug?” I was pulling my hair out, I tell you what.
I’m ready to give up on today…. by that I mean simply sit and not overexcert or expect anything more of today. With this start….. So now there’s heat in the bus and the wallet was located in a basket under a curtain. I have cheesy rice on the stove and the kids are watching the “sword in the stone.” And now I’m struggling to think where about I left off last blog post anyway. I think I’d been in Trinidad? Well that was a cold morning with ice in sheets on the windshield. I got to see Jake and Berlin and hopefully we’ll meet up again soon. As soon as the roads were somewhat dry looking we headed down the road to Las Vegas, Nm.
It was still cold there and the next day promised high winds, so I concluded the safest choice would be to move on. We went to a beautiful little canyon campsite near Pecos. It was a beautifully quiet night and the kids were happy to walk around the woods in the morning. Around noon, after a good little hike, we headed into Santa Fe. We met some beautiful people there, however the city isn’t the most travel friendly and I’m not about getting the bus started early to move. those are usually the mornings the kids try to sleep in on. And that’s how and why we headed just a little further south to Bernalillo/Albuquerque.
I made cheddar rice on the kids request. I would’ve made “pizza rice” if it was my suggestion. I’m the only one eating cheddar rice. At least it has tumeric in it.
Oh! Another person I’ve met, at a laundromat named Dave (must be the most common name) he lives in a bus and sells lies. No seriously, L.I.E.S. Written and published by David. He’s got some good stuff. Check him out at GhostofAmerica.net My favorite quote here
“She finds a sweatshirt, doused in Boris’ cologne and drops herself into it. It fits like a grocery sack.”
Marvelous I say. Hmmm, I said that before I just heard Marvelous Madame Mim.
I Have got to check my propane tank level. would suck to run out of such tonight after stores close….
Hoping you’re warm and cozy
Hope you share some smiles ❤
