The threat of the valve plate having to come out of the transmission for rehabilitation, became obsolete as our trusty mechanic, Ferlin, found out more information on the vehicle he was dealing with. And so he replaced 3 sensors over a 2 day span, got it all adjusted, and proclaimed that we will rip through no more transmissions! I knew there must be an external problem! After the 2nd transmission, actually right after purchase, I should’ve dug into the over drive problem. However, I didn’t have the 740$ so “freely available” as I did this time….

We got out of the shop just afternoon and headed for a park to wander for an hour before going to the laundromat.
After laundry, we went to the grocery store, then headed north some. My set destination was a Loves a little North of Oklahoma city. After about an hour drive, I saw Route 66 and I thought it would be nice to go along it. 5 miles down the road, I saw flashing lights behind me. I pulled over and the cop ran my license saying I should go AT LEAST the speed LIMIT. I thought it was a limitation, not a decree. I wasn’t going that slow, but there were a few cars behind mee so he said I was impeding traffic. He let me go pretty quickly. We drove a mile. I saw a green fleck on my maps, and wanted to let the dogs out if it was a park. I saw the field and turned into a road that turned out to be a drive way, Trying not to trespass, I started flipping around, just in time for two police cars to pull up behind me. The younger of the cops was downright aggressive, asking about firearms and narcotics. I said I have 2 kids and 3 dogs and it’s just me organizing this circus, I surely have no time or want of narcotics or fire arms. When he persisted again, I lost my patience a little, “Look, I know you think I’m an easy target looking like a hippie bus, but that doesn’t mean that there’s copious amounts of illegal activities going on. I’m well within my rights.” he stated that he had no more questions to ask me. Supposedly route 66 is a hub for drug traffic. I said that it’s also a hub for tourism, and my kids quite enjoy all the car museums along the route, and did they know that Oatman, AZ, along the route has wild burrows you can feed? Seriously FTP.
We finally made it to that park, just as it started to storm. The dogs went potty and I fed the children dinner. After the storm dissipated, we drove the rest of the way to Guthrie.

This morning was pretty slow. I did a youtube video while the kids played. Then we headed for a park. I actually let the kids play on the set while I sewed better straps on their masks. Then we took a long walk. I made them promise not to touch their faces until I sanitized their hands.

The walk and area here is beautiful and lush. Guthrie is the oldest town in Oklahoma, full of victorian style houses (which makes me think, it may not be the first but the first wealthy one.) The people have friendly smiles and faces. I wish that museums were open again. I’m feeling very pointless zooming around without significant stops of education. I haven’t heard them utter the words “McDonalds” or “playplace” in ages, either, and that’s quite a relief. They’ve also accepted that TV isn’t until afternoon, except the occasional sunday morning cartoons.
Now we’re at the walmart. Not that I need any more food than what we already have, we just could use some income. I’m starting to keep closer tabs on what is coming in and organizing tax deductable out-come too.
Stay grateful!
