I really wish we had stayed longer in abilene, especially since Lou and Kristen were such wonderful people to have crossed our paths. But I realized how much of a way it was to get to Dallas by the next day to get some mail from my mom for Atreyu’s birthday!
So we zoomed there. I did have to fill out a little card to receive general delivery, which I did in the morning and the package didnt arrive until afternoon.
Atreyu wanted to see a dinosaur museum so we did that for the day before his birthday. It was a pretty expensive museum visit. Most of it was geared towards kids, except the cattle exhibit. Video will be edited soon.

I figured we’d go swimming for his actual birthday. Unfortunately there are no real indoor pools in the whole of DFW area that aren’t membership. So I found a hotel with a pool and jacuzzi. We ate cake and dealt with a birthday meltdown. All in all a success! Birthday dinner was chinese take out courtesy of Sonny, so atreyu could eat seafood for his birthday (crab rangoons!) I ended up sleeping out in the bus. The kids wanted to sleep upstairs in the hotel room. By the time I left, they were all sleeping. They had barely awoken when I got back in the morning.

Sonny was in a terrible mood probably from having watched the news. He said I should drop him off at the bus stop before he had to endure the rain for the next few days. I had maybe another day of waiting for a parcel from Crikett. But I figured they’d hold it for me, so I decided to drive Sonny up the last 100 miles to get him to his mom. Especially since it was a chance to reup on some medicine. I feel a little guilty about it because when Crikett asked if we’d gotten her mail I vaguely said it hadn’t been there…
We had some beautiful time though. And then a good reason to get out of there too. It’s beautiful country and Dot is sweet and funny. Sonny was sad to see us go and I really miss him, but I’d rather miss him than be happy to see him go.
After picking up our mail, we went to a park and took a nice long walk then headed out of the city. Just in time before that corona virus lockdown really started.
I’m not afraid of the virus. I dont think my family or I will get sick and even if we do, I doubt itll get us seriously but I also see a lot of people in a day and I dont want to be a culprit or able to be seen as one. And so I found us a camping spot I hope to weather the weather and the virus.

It’s a beautiful lake and the kids have been enjoying the area thoroughly. We got a box of food kicked down and a guy that makes chainmail crosses brought us two and some homemade jerky and dried pineapple. He said that he comes to check on this place, but wont tell us to leave. He said he cant promise that the rangers won’t, but right now we’re ok. We collected some firewood and a couple bags of trash. We got some good logs of wood kicked down too, so it’s looking like good prospects for a fire. A luxury fire not utilitarian. This would be quite the romantic setting and scenario XD
I do kind of suspect my time for finding a suitable apocalypse partner has vanished. I wish my children were also a bit older to weather the possible impending shitshow.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmy keyboard fucked off and so I hope to replace it soon… i typed this all on phone and my thumbs arent happy with me about it… but I figured that I have to catch up and also finish some videos since this is the chance! And if we’re really doing this apocalypse thing, we really should be on top of this!
So! I hope you’re well!
Stay grateful
Crikett just remarked I better get to my moms before it gets worse… what do y’all think?
