It took almost till 3 o’clock to put in the transmission. Galixy was running around, Atreyu was totally taken up by the cartoons the shop had put on the TV. That is, until Sonny turned up. Galixy ran up to him and gave him a big hug. Atreyu’s face lit up and he flapped his hands in excitement before almost getting upset in confusion. They were SO stoked!
Sonny had hoped to find a ride east home to Oklahoma, but since most people were going back West, he decided to check on our transmission venture.
The shop made sure everything was firing properly on the transmission before sending us on our way. By this time, I was beyond ready to get out of Tucson.

There isn’t VERY much between Tucson and Las Cruces. A few small towns with some desert-y attractions as old west museums. We did a night in Deming, NM, with a stop in to the St. Vincent de Pauls where I saw our friend Glenda and found a couple things for the kids. Then we headed on to Las Cruces.
It’s the time of year where I have to watch the weather for wind before driving. It bound us to a couple places on our way through New Mexico. Compounding wind speeds picking up with the residual cold of winter receding, I couldn’t justify going further north to visit Geraldine in Truth or Consequences, or Pauline in Albuquerque. I really wish Spring upon us, but on the other hand, heading east is what I wanted for this year.
At the least, we had a visit with my friend, MJ and her two boys. They had a little change upon them so we stayed a couple days longer than anticipated to help with adjustments. Peaches and his caravan stopped by for a night as well, which made for a sweet get together! My kids really enjoyed having a house to go crazy in and two playmates to monkey with. Some more TV time than usual and chances to play on some Leap pads! Everyone got a chance to get clean, even the dogs got baths.

I also didn’t take much touristy time in Las Cruces. Maybe Sonny’s hope to get closer to home sooner than later affected that. Also in El Paso, we hit one playground in the north, then a laundromat, before heading onward.
Last night, we spent at a rest area. It’s been getting into the 20 degrees Fahrenheit the last few nights, which is very cold considering we’re hugging the Mexican border. The icy cold front from the North is now receeding and I’m expecting a balmy 40 degree low! Van Horn is a few miles from where the I 10 splits and opens up the I20 which leads to oil town central of Pecos. I’m hoping to stick to the I10, however Sonny was thinking of taking the I20 to have a smoother sailing back to Oklahoma through Dallas. If it was any warmer, I’d take him myself, but I figure San Antonio and Corpus Christi would be great to see for the kids. Good exploration with hopefully sunny weather!
I’ve been neglecting ALL work. This station is labeled procrastination. Maybe it’s the end of the winter vibe or maybe I’m just really lazy (Sonny would oppose that vehemently as my place is clean and everyone is generally fed and the kids are moving right along in their education and I continue to fix up things on trusty Matilda!) However, this blogging has been difficult with the faulty “m” tab (I think it’s a problem when the batteries start dying.) the translations haven’t moved and I’m starting to feel very terrible about those…. ad the youtubes! Why would anybody subscribe if I’m not presenting more material? But I need the subscribers to get to 100…. I recently saw a meme of reasons for procrastination…. one reason was fear of failure and the other fear of success. If it’s both, does it make it fear of indifference? Or just indifference? complete swings?
Ah! and there knocks the next project, a receiving address! and that reminds me of the sending I’ve been wanting to do myself. Snaps!
Galixy changes his name on a daily basis. The only consistent thing is that he’s usually a girl. He’s consistently insisting on wearing “the pretty clothes” and complains if I try to put him in anything too gendered towards a boy. He’s become insistent to strangers that he’s Atreyu’s sister. Really, I only have one option, which is to support his happiness. In this case it meant taking my darling children shopping so they could pick out a new outfit. Galixy picked out of the Girl section and Atreyu decided on more Dinosaur themes. I just want them to be happy in clean clothes and Galixy kept pulling things out of the dirty laundry. As long as they are healthy and happy, may they color their canvas of life with as many colors as they can possibly find!

I think I’ve caught all my little themes on catching you all up. I did have a few very low energy and grumpy days. I felt like doing little. The children were on the same wave and were also not in the best of moods. Us humans, aren’t designed to be pleasant at all times. When would we learn? Become emotionally mature? Not like I’m the most mature human. I’m just trying to exist sometimes.
We’re now on Book 5 of Harry Potter. Atreyu’s sight word today is “you” Galixy’s letter is “L” for “love”. Our Daily Yoga pose is the triangle (the yoga card doesnt change every day.) Our German words are sitting at “Bitte” and “schoen.” Galixy pronounced “quickly” properly for the first time yesterday and my 4 plants are growing. I paid our insurance a few days ago. If I could get the Vlog thing and translation going, I’d feel like a fulfledged adult.
Alas! I forgot! At the mention of being an adult, my eyes fell upon the most lovely addition to Bugus of the last week! My VACCUM! Oh! The dance of happiness and joy I had bringing it home! Oh the satisfaction of using it! My home counts as pretty clean and organized, especially for the traveling community. Given there are some fancy pants clean freaks traveling, but in MY bracket and then with kids… I’m pretty put together.
So gonna add some pix and then see about getting more work done!

Loving you!
Stay Grateful!
