Happy Thanksgiving from Lake Havasu and my little family! We give thanks on this day, we don’t celebrate the tradition. Though, we do enjoy the free turkey dinners. Today it was provided by Blondzee’s bar and grill! What generous people and so nice ❤
Yesterday was laundry day. It had predicted to be inclement weather but it wasn’t really bad. It was still good to get some clothes clean and folded and be part of some regular people doing the same thing. There was a kid corner and the attendants turned on cartoons for the kids. I charged the DVD player some.
After we were done, we headed for the St Vincent de Paul thrift store and got there only 5 minutes before closing. I didn’t find anything I could use anyway, though, being rushed didn’t help the search.
Our next stop was the Library per kid wishes. I wanted to go to the park, but the kids got the option. Atreyu was all about the computer, but both kids did partake in story time! What luck. No local kids were there but another group of kids from Quebec. The read “Sal and the blueberries” a book from the ’70s. My favorite part was when Sal and a baby bear were about to mix up their mommies, and the guy asked “what do you think is going to happen next?” and Galixy blurted, “I think she’s going to die!!” The guy was very good at kid speak and understood. He was a little taken aback, but said that no, there would be no dying in this book!
Before going out to camping I let the boys run in the playplace of Burger King while I ate fries and surfed the interwebs. At the campground we read books and brushed teeth. I could’ve sworn my phone had said it was 7:30, so I put the kids to bed even though they cried “movie.” Instead I read them some Greek myths until they both fell asleep. Then I crawled into bed too, at actually 7:40 XD an hour later. It was getting to be the promised inclement weather.
Today, I figured that just heading to town, something would happen for the day. I drove all the way to Walmart on the opposite side of town. While I wrote on the little chalk board a guy came up to tell me that there was the free thanksgiving dinner between 11 and 1PM and Blondzee’s. It wasn’t that time yet, so we stuck aroud Walmart, but no one came to talk to us.
The people were super friendly and the food was delicious. The kids did the typical thing of first saying they were super excited and then barely touching any food. Well, I should give some props to Atreyu! The only reason the kid thing applies to him is because he really wanted candy not even half way through and I picked at both their plates.
Now we’re at the park. It rained a couple times but the sun has been out periodically making for amazing rainbows. A wonderful asian couple came by and gave me $40. They were so happy to see Bugus. Galixy got himself into a time out and continued to not listen. The guy from the first day was back with his doggo. We talked for a little while until it came pouring down. This park is my oasis. Even with rain it’s gorgeous!
I didn’t get to posting yesterday. Adding pictures seemed a hard task. We ended up driving up to the truck stop and spanging a shower. The kids loved playing in the water. It started raining super hard and I found all sorts of drips, but had managed to park so that my bed remained dry miraculously. When it got to be too much, I parked under the overhang off the gas pumps, pumped a $20 worth and sat there daring a worker to come tell me I had to move. Nobody came, so I only moved once the rain calmed down a little. The wind was high so we had no options but to stay up at that Loves instead of heading down to BLM land.
This morning was kinda chilly. Galixy woke up first and called me down to help him go potty. Atreyu slept until right before we started moving. We only moved down 10 miles to the Walmart. I’m hoping to let Black Friday work in my favor. So far we’ve got 2 tubes of silicone to fix some leaks ( I hope it helps) and a $20. Better than nothing!
The kids ate bacon and an omelete and have been busy arguing and fighting. I don’t want to let them lose yet, maybe we’ll go to the park once it’s getting warmer. I’ve been fighting my bladder and besides my house, my toilet mysteriously leaks. Just more projects XD I need a pragmatic mind to fix these leaks. I have no conception of what’s going on.
I better surf through the pix and add them. I’ve done dishes twice already and am facing doing some more…
