Projects and nonsense back in the gallatin valley

Good morning. Lazy Laney is kicking herself. It’s been almost a week and I don’t feel like all that I needed to get done has gotten anywhere.

Let’s start in Billings. Tuesday morning rolled around and we got pulled into the shop. The boys and I set out for a playground. I knew it was gonna take all day to put that trans back in. In the end we spent more time walking than on the actual playground. The boys got bored of it pretty quickly, so we walked back. Atreyu was probably just excited to go to the waiting room an watch TV.

For having such a long weekend sitting around, we were thoroughly blessed by all of Hanser’s. An office worker brought us grapes and hot dogs for lunch. The guy working on the transmission didn’t just stop to make sure all the bolts and fluids were proper, he gave us an oil change and a new oil pan bolt and checked codes for the loose wires dangling! They spoiled my bus with a spa day! Right before we left the shop, another mechanic I hadn’t spoken to yet stopped to talk and handed us a couple of $20’s. Who goes to a shop and walkes out with more money than to start with and a smooth running bus? THIS GIRL!!

Driving the overhauled transmission made me realize that it was the shop two years ago (MCM in Belgrade) who’d helped in the rapid decline of the transmission. It was brand new, but 6 months later the flex plate on the control arm was loose. It was lucky the person following me for a couple 100 miles new his cars and saved it from hanging by one bolt barely holding it together. I had used to trans fluid status as a guiding point for how full she needed to be after the new one was put it, but it seems that fluid was already low when they got it back to me. Now I’m wiser and will be taking such good care of this rebuild, we will keep it forever.

From the shop we went to visit DJ at his place. Galixy napped through it all and Atreyu got an introduction to Adventure Time, DJ’s favorite show.

I drrove through all the way back to my mom’s with a stop in Columbus for dinner. When I got back, I lit a spliff which made my mom think something was burning? She had thought she’d see me the next day with my stop in columbus and was surprised by my arrival for the first time in years, which used to be my favorite thing to do before she installed the tracker on my phone. I had even surprised her with when I returned from Austria when Atreyu was 6 months old.

Wednesday I started pulling some things out of the bus, what was more about recovering from the weekend and long drive. I also had a very long and deep conversation with DJ about the fact that I’m polyamorous and he is not. There’s a lot of topic for me on this, which I’ve had in a draft for a few moths. Trying to work it out clearly before publishing. It’s a complicated subject and deserves my precision.

On Thursday, Saliha came to visit. She stayed the night and we had wonderful conversation, kiddie play time and found a moment to go shopping. We decided to colab on the kids book she’s been trying to create, so we jotted notes and I used some time on Saturday to type a start, which feels good, but deserves to be rewritten in the language it was intended in. I have more practice writing in english but it’ll be easily flowed into German.

Friday night was Saliha’s going away party. I didn’t feel like I had the energy for the endeavor but my mom dove in and offered for me to leave the kids with her. It was a little weird not having my minions along, but I didn’t have to apologize for their spills, or needyness, or subsequent unwillingness. It was great getting to be a fucking human and having the option to be there for some kids whilst being able to deflect some tasks. There were a couple rounds of Kings cup and some smoking parties I was able to partake in. I got to be present without distraction. So nice.

The boys had a fun movie night. Atreyu ended up crying before going to sleep, but was content to cuddle me upon waking in the morning.

Yesterday, besides some writing, I cared for a puking Atreyu. He felt better in the aftternoon. Elli was there and had a hard time about not being allowed to play video games on her phone all day long. The evening turned pretty quiet with Spinat strudel for dinner.

I’m about half through tearing out wood and about to hit the infestation. The Chaos I’m creating is enormous. My mom is wondering why I have “so much” stuff and I realize how the minor bus-splosion earlier this summer has left her with lower expectations of what’s really all in my bus. I utilize most of it pretty regularly, and that which I don’t still finds plenty of use and is more for preparartion or seasonal. Hardly use their snow gear, but if we didn’t have it, we would sorely miss it.

Back at the House trot. I feel like most of it isn’t really “reportabe” but I still make the effort to lay it out. What is every day to me, is somebody else’s never. At least when I find nothing reportable my mind still fills in spaces with thoughts of wonder.

On another note! Important!! I have a friend named Mary Jane. She lives in Las Cruces with her 2 boys. She’s attending school to get a construction liscence and is having surgery on the 10th of October. She could really use some help with her tasks while she’s recovering, so I’m looking for some trustworthy individual who may be grateful for a week of free bathroom, kitchen, tv, internet and video games to help this mama out!

Please contact me and don’t be offended that I’m screening you before sending somebody to her house that would cause more harm than good. Healing is a hard task for our bodies and she should not feel stressed while recovery or thereafter.

I’m gonna leave it on that note so maybe the importance is heard.

Loving you!
