What a day. And it’d only 4pm.
Last night we ate grilled cheese and watched The Jungle Book (rip off version). I took the chance to sit outside. First I read a little, but the birds were chirping so I began watching. I saw a bunch of wildlife, though the hawk chasing the two little birds.
It thunderstormed hard during the night. It went for hours….
Started off with the kids being rowdy, We made pancakes. I cleaned up some and did the dishes. I felt like we got an early start. That didn’t matter much since our next adventure took hours.
The road out was super muddy. It felt like ice the way we caught a slide. I thought it was starting to look like it was getting better, and we couldn’t be far from the paved road, right? came down a hill, slowed for the corner and there was a beautiful puddle of mud. I was all, “Well we’re not gonna make it in reverse up this hill, so let’s go!” We didn’t even make it into the deep part before we got stuck. probably a good thing. My first thought was grasses and shovel, to get some traction. When that failed I called triple A. The lady said she’d try, but the second dispatcher said it was a no-go. I turned to social media. Trusty Turtle told me carpets. I had discarded most. I did leave a few smaller scraps in the bus. Halleluja. It still took consistent rearranging, some shoveling and multiple attempts, but we got out, and right through the big mud puddle. It must’ve dried out some while we were sitting there.
Now I have mud everywhere in the bus and on my body. The dirt road went on for another 4 miles. Up hills and through a couple lighter puddles. My relief was huge when we hit pavement, even greater when we made it to Crowell.
We pulled into the gas station, my tummy was growling and I needed to rid myself of the dirt on my hands and fingernails. I used their sink, then set out the fuel jug, and made myself some oatmeal. I was at the station maybe a half hour. I chatted with a fellow named Randy.
And then the police pulled up. The officer seemed friendly enough. He ran my name, which came back clear, thank heavens (Last year I was stopped in Texas and the hitchhiker riding with me at the time caused a search of my vehicle which lef to them uncovering a small tin of residue of dabs. Marijuana but screwed with by humans and so felony charge “once it comes back from the lab.” It must’ve never gone to the lab, or the lab worker discarded it for lack of evidence…. whatever.) The officer today said that I had my license run near waco texas a year ago, I said that it may be possible. He also said that the employees had told me to leave, which was false. If they had told me to leave, I would’ve left. I wouldn’t want to stick around for the police to be called on me. I think Randy’s presence saved me. The officer knew him. Randy told him he had seen me in Benjamin yesterday. Randyr also offered me a place to park for the night, but I didn’t want to. I feel short on cash but with an overwhelming list of things to get done. So I’d rather park somewhere public with a chance of donations. He said the next spot was 30 miles down the road.
I would’ve used this gasstation to put some fuel in, but I feel a little miffed that they called the cops before telling me to leave, and that they told the cop that they had already told me to leave. So I felt grateful that I wasn’t quite as empty coming into Vernon as I was yesterday coming into Benjamin.
Well, here we are, at a playground in Vernon. Galixy is sleeping. Atreyu is playing. He’s acting a bit bored and in need of attention and so I will bow to my master and quit this typing.

Galixy woke up as soon as I put up the keyboard. We played for hours in beautiful scenery. The boys had some playmates, two little girls who were accompanied by three men, the father being very attractive and sweet. It’s nice to be able to have someone beautiful to look at on occasion. I’m glad they stuck around for a little while, not just so I could gaze on eyecandy, but because the kids really love having playmates that crave their attention as much as my boys crave theirs.
Now we’re at Walmart. So far one Beetle enthusiast stopped to chat. His beetles are gorgeous. I should’ve asked him for trim, clips, rear view mirrors and spare windshield wipers XD Maybe he’ll be back. maybe I should set out my “free box.” At any rate, it’s time to make dinner!
Loving you!
