Crosbyton- Truscott

Oh what a busy day we’ve had. I’m glad it’s getting to be evening time and we’re parked in a green spot.We woke up in Crosbyton at the park. Atreyu immediately started asking to go to the museum. It was foggy but the kids didn’t want to play at the playground. By the time I finished sipping my coffee, Atreyu was getting overwhelming with his request, so we headed back into the town.

The museum was super quiet. It seemed we had the entire building to ourselves. The exhibit was set up very densly and had a lot of interesting things. We spent some good time looking around.

The other museum had signs up about it being closed which was a real bummer. We could’ve visited it for a total of $5.We headed east. I should’ve set up at the gas station there, but I didn’t realize there wasn’t going to be another gas station for a while.

We stopped at the Dickens spring park to stretch our legs. It is a beautiful park, very quiet with an old rebuilt homestead, and a walk down to the springs, with a fake tipi construction and picnic table. It was wonderful walking around the area.

After that stop, my fuel tank was looking pretty unhappy. We made it to Benjamin where there’s a gas station with a grumpy employee but very nice town folk. I didn’t get to sit there very long. I definitely stayed far from being rich. Put a little cash into the tank and headed up to Brine Lake.

We drove almost all the way around it. I about gave up on finding ourselves the campsites, but here we are. It’s not much of an actual campsite, but we did get to take a nice long walk down to the boat ramp. I didn’t want to drive down to it since I was afraid of driving blindly down a single track road with signs of dead ending in water.

Now the boys are playing outside pulling all kinds of books out and stacking them in my doorway. I’m on the verge of cooking dinner. It’s still a little hot, so it’ll be good to be outside for eating.I can only hope for the best with uploading pictures into this today. The app has been crashing anytime I try to add 5 or more pictures at once, and that’s where you see the weird paragraphs.

I want to find a place where the boys and I can ride some horses, though I doubt they’d be happy about Galixy at 2.5 trying to ride a horse on his own, or with me for that matter. Maybe we’ll stumble on a fair with a horsey ride, or we get helped by a super cool rancher family that have horses. Totally down to manifest this in whatever way it presents itself.

I did end up reading the boys to sleep last night. Those little things make me feel happy.

Loving you!
