Las Vegas, NM – Bernalillo

Good evening. Here we are in some warmer weather. Not by a whole lot, but we won’t be frozen tonight. I’m chilling in my super unicorn slippers. We’re at a walmart where all the signs say “no overnight parking” but they won’t bother usif it’s just one night. We’ve gotten some attention, but no donations. One lady knocked on our door, but more to talk about us both being from Montana. She’s heading up to Kalispell to start a job in the next week. I say she’s crazy. It’s way too cold still. She lives in her RV. I guess she’s better insulated and prepared for the cold.

Daniel stayed up in Las Vegas. He is also better able to stay in the cold than the kids and I. I’ve thought about carpeting our ceiling in an effort to insulate and cozyfy. Would be super 70’s putting a shag ceiling in. I’d giggle about it for sure if it was to come together. I also should print out a decal to cover one of my back windows with that scanny thing that links to my paypal. And maybe write my blog website on the bus, too. More exposure and advertisement?

I get sidetracked too easily. We drove from Las Vegas all the way down to Bernalillo, just above Albuquerque. While we drove, Galixy napped. Atreyu and I read signs and pointed at the animals. We talked about the clouds in the distance, which ones look like it’s raining and which ones look like it’s snowing. Atreyu wanted to stop in Santa Fe. I did, too. But the weather says otherwise. Really I want to expore Madrid, Santa Fe, Taos, and Las Vegas. I want to go towards Texas. But in all reality we should head towards California, but through Silver City. Atreyu wants to go to the gathering. I don’t. But the kids wishes can be more important than mine, aye?

Picture doesnt do the colors justice. There was deep red, vibrant yellow, grassy green, and super blue sky

We drove through Downtown Bernalillo and got a good feel for the area. Which was complete opposite of the new part of town. Apparently this town has a Sheriff charger that’s lime green and spiffy. Super creepy if you ask me. They can afford vehicles like that?

So, we pulled into the Walmart and I sat to research about things to do. I might take the boys to a kiddie movie tomorrow. Or a churchy easter egg hunt. I mean, they could totally use some education on some religion. It would be the Christian kick off, leading to the pagan origins in our private time. After some researching, we madeExtreme Holiday Mashed Potatoes, one of our favorite road meals. I must’ve shared this recipe before, so I won’t do it again today I’ll put a tag up and hope to find that entry again and tag it properly. It’s too easy and too delicious.

I haven’t dont dishes yet which is a big mistake when it comes to this tater recipe. Let it sit and it’ll get all crusty and hard to wash. The boys are watching Beethoven’s big break. I would’ve preferred to read together some tonight and go get some water. But here we are, watching a movie and not washing dishes…. yet. Soon it’s bed time.

I’m hopefully gonna facetime with my brother. I’ve also had a moment to talk to one of my favorite people, Peaches. He’s having a bit of a tough time right now, but those come in waves for him anyway. Mainly when he isn’t on the road. Just being there for people can be helpful. Even if your suggestions are complete bullshit or don’t apply to the person, at least it shows them that someone cares and the conversation can bring some light into their little time. Peaches is an amazing guy, so letting him know we care is the least we can do. I could feel his smile through my phone. And the boys love him lots.

Sharing smiles is my mission. Smiling is infectious. It makes your day brighter infinitismally. If I want the world to smile, I should ensure that my loved ones in need feel our warmth too.

Loving you!
