Santa Rosa- Las Vegas, NM

Last night I moved the bus from the Food Mart to the Loves once the wind had died down. I was all hopeful I’d just fill up my tank by jugging (asking truckers for five gallons at a time). Right after I pulled my jug off and tentatively headed towards the pumps, a loves worker saw me and I shrank back. He shook his head at me and I just disappeared into the bus.

It was a cold night. We had an early wake up, too. That Loves isn’t very sleeper friendly. In the morning, the wind was fairly calm so we headed down where the stop sign is. I had a great time bouncing around to my music. The kickdowns weren’t too bad, but there were some frowns and I felt the energy being unfriendly. And so we put the little we made into our tank and headed towards Las Vegas, a 71 mile stretch.

Camera on top???

Gotta find out what that weird formation was

Getting into town we drove off the first exit to explore. Gosh, this town is old and charming. Lots of little things. we went to drive around a locomotive Santa Fe donated to this town.

After that we found Daniel, by chance, at a playground. So we went to play a minute. I mean, it’s not been the warmest day, but the sun was out so I figured the kids could run a minute. Atreyu went straight to sit on Daniels lap inside his van *le sigh* I ran around with Galixy for a little while, but it didn’t motivate Atreyu to get out of the van. He said he’s “saving his energy” I told him that he has piss poor timing and to get the flock off his bum and get to playing. They’d been wild and crazy ALL day, barely a break while I was driving, so I was more than a little annoyed by Daniel feeding into it at that moment.

I took them to the Museum here. It’s a small exhibit with ALOT of writing. I enjoyed it especially since it was free and hinted us at staying for the easter extravaganza this Saturday. It even has a car show without a registration fee.

Think we could win??

After the museum we took a short drive to the train depot and then down 7th street. I definitely think this town is worth exploring and walking about.

Walking through Walmart, everybody was smiling and greeting. Friendly faces. I think the best part about walmart was chatting with the boys. And finding unicorn slippers on sale for $3 instead of $10. Our cashier was also super friendly and blown away by our slipper score.

We’ve been sitting here in our Walmart corner for a little over an hour. People have been taking picttures, smiling, waving, stopping, talking. All the while we’ve been eating Salad and relaxing. Daniel pulled up next to us. He brought us french fries, which I do appreciate his thinking of us, but, honestly, late afternoon, right next to Walmart, I don’t need the boys’ appetite spoiled before dinner. All in all, I feel a little annoyed by Daniel, and I’m pretty sure it’s nothing against him as a person, but my general intolerance to long term exposure of other humans. I’m sure he’d adapt his pace to whatever me fancy, but I just don’t know how to convey or communicate my flow. I know that’s hard for the people around me.

Rhea unhappy on the dash

I will be looking into local vet for chikkie’s ball chop appointment, propane sale options, paypal.me configurations, and maybe catch up on my emails and outgoing messages. And most importantly, have Atreyu help me cook our noodle dinner. At this rate he will be cooking us dinner intermittently by next year. He’s got a lot of ambition for that subject. I don’t want to get him into playing with fake food. I’d rather he learn the real thing, inclusive of respect for the tools used in the process. I also should check the weather, I feel like we may be utilizing our heater buddy in the morning.

I should also really find a way for Galixy to let all his energy out. His destructiveness is wearing on me. Any ideas?

Loving you!
