Yesterday was a beautiful day. The wind was consistent, but it was warm. I started the day by cleaning the bus thoroughly. I swept and wiped and organized. The kids played with Daniel, collecting fire wood and cooking food, but mainly staying out of my way.

Once that was all done, I started work on a wire wrap with Fluorite and Spinells. I didn’t finish it until today, but I think it turned out pretty swell.

Atreyu ate dinner early while Galixy napped up in the warmth of my bug bed. I suspected him of having a mild fever, so I figured the warmth would help him get it out. When Galixy woke up I fed him some fruit and a sandwich. They decided pretty early together that it was time for bed.
We had a nice fire going, so I was a little surprised at how easy and early they went to bed. I stayed up late chatting with Daniel about “Rock stories”, life, and conspiracy theories.
Daniel is getting up there in age, but frail thin and still plenty of hair. He lives in his van for the last year. He’s originally from St. Louis. His “adult” life he spent working as an engineer for the city. He paid child support for 2 sons and a daughter. He says his daughter is the chip off his block. After the kids were raised, he went to Hawaii. He spent 15 years living on Kauai on a public land commune, making seashell necklaces and playing eukelele. He’s a very gentle soul who is often alone. I enjoy his company and hope his soft nature brings some calm into my own demeanor.
Anyway, I went to bed late. And not soon after I finally managed to close my eyes, I was awakened by Atreyu coughing. It wasn’t very harsh, so I patted him on the back and covered them back up.
The next time he awoke, he said he coughed so hard he puked, but there was no puke in the bed. I suspect he swallowed it. I took him outside into the fresh air and he got to taking some deep breaths. He said he wanted back into his bunk bed, so I let him up and went back to bed.
Another fit of coughing from Atreyu awoke me a third time. This time I stuck him into the bug and we slept until Galixy needed me to help him get his blanket back on.
Galixy was also the first to wake up once the sun was out. He was distressed at waking up alone without his brother. I jumped down and reassured him that his brother was just upstairs with me because he was sick, and wouldn’t Galixy consider sleeping a little longer?
He wouldn’t. And so the day started. I made tea for the kids and coffee for the zombie.
Before we left our spot, a truck and trailer pulled up and unloaded two horses and three dogs. The older gentleman rancher was very friendly and allowed the boys to pet his horse. The attractive younger guy was quiet but smiley. I think I will look into taking them to see some horses. Maybe mellow riding.
I really had to go to the post office. We headed to Socorro where the boys and Daniel played at the park while I ran to mail my fine money off. The cop told me all kinds of stuff that was contradicted on the ticket itself, like that I had 45 days to pay the fine, instead the ticket says 30. So, all my money is going to the government. I just figure that if I wait for a court date they’ll have it in August and I will not be in Tucson during August. Just saying.
I felt like poop sitting in Socorro. Daniel made me an egg sandwich and I drank some water. Then we headed down to T or C. The sun was bright and the sky was blue. It was warm enough to have the window down some. The thoughts rolled in and out. I meant to message and call a bunch of people today who have been on my mind lately (shoutout: mom, dad, Emet, Marika, Sanna,….)
We went to bullocks grocery store. Daniel stayed at the bus while I went inside. (Big scores.) Daniel took a turn going in, but he was very quick.
Off we went to the BLM River land South of T or C. There’s a big tree and a big fire pit. a nice little slope with sand and rocky river bank. The water itself is murky and not very inviting. However, while Daniel was making Hamburgers (isn’t it awesome how he’s cooking for us left and right?) The boys and I sat down by the river bank and watched the fish play in the water. They come almost halfway out, their gray backs grazing the air. Other times they barely put their nose out leaving a few bubbles and ripples spreading. More so as the sun went down, they began to jump. It was fun to watch, encouraging the kids to try and see their white bellies splashing back into the water.

The boys are now tucked into bed and I’m also bound to finally relieve my headache. I hope the boys get enough rest tonight to cure out their little ews. I gave them a small variety of herbal remedies. I don’t want to overstimulate their little bodies. I just want them to get a bit of assistance kicking this stuff faster.
Before I closed the door behind me, I had to lure Chikkie in. That rascal caught himself another mouse. He was just playing with it. When I forced him to spit it out so we could go in already, it just plopped to the side. As I’m not a mouse doctor, I took my shovel and put it out of its misery. maybe chikkie will eat it tomorrow, or I will bury it. The other mouse he had caught in my bus didn’t go very far from the bus door either. I thought the cat might eat him, but he was just playing with the carcass, so we burned the little mouse body instead. Wished it well on it’s journey and thanked it for it’s life. Even though he dared enter my domain.
I tried making a binfire.com campaign with Matilda bugus shirts but the maximum is 8 colors so I’m still working on it XD
I hope you all are doing well and the tides of the seasons are turning for you as they are for me.
Loving you!
