The kids and I are at the library in Truth or Consequences. It’s beautiful with Bean Bags, a large ABC carpet and so many books. I found a plug to charge the little DVD player since it’s too cold to hook it up out front right now and it isn’t connected to the main battery. This has pros and cons. It’s not eating off the main batteries and causing starting problems if I overuse it, but it also doesn’t just charge once the motors on.
It is a windy day today. It’s actually been windy and miserable since we’ve gotten to T or C. We had some visits from Christina and her daughters who bestowed gifts upon Atreyu for his birthday. They’re new RV is good looking. Giggles ended up taking a ride to Socorro with them. I called the whole bunch crazy because if it’s this cold and windy here, it won’t be getting any better going north. But I’m not the one going that way so it’s on them.

I spent a good chunk of the last couple days speaking to family. It’s nice taking the time to talk. The boys get really excited too. I wish I could hang out with them more, but it’s so much better to do in person anyway and I try to stay present with the boys vs putting my attention to the electronic device. I feel obligated to do so anyway. Phone calls have always been a thing I try to avoid in the past, but I’m trying to get better about it, especially when it comes to my family.

The main job of today was to replace the glowplug control module. I have to confess that I didn’t prepare much for the endeavor; I feel pretty acquainted with this part by now. Indeed it was very simple and self explanatory. I made two boo-boos:
- While tightening the main battery cable bolt, my tool touched the engine block and we had a flury of sparks.
- I tightened one bolt too tight on the side and the plastic part on the side of the module cracked.
I don’t feel so bad about this since the motherfluffer started. Woot!

Some guy yesterday asked me if I was mechanically enclined.
“If you’re asking me to fix something for you, no. If you want me to point out some things on my bus, yes.”
So what am I doing? There’s a museum in town, but it’s so cold and windy. It isn’t any fun trying to get the boys to behave without proper movement. It’s also hard to get them to engage their brains without proper movement. Cold outside inhibits me much. I want to take the kids to the museum here but the parking out front is very limited. We were at the park for a little while, but it wasn’t long before the boys wanted to get back into the bus. It’s 2:30 now and we played on the ABC mat. They surely are getting their letters down. My new agreement with Atreyu is that once he learns to read he will get a tablet. That way I can then consistently ask him to look things up for me, even if I ask him to do it on my cell phone. He needs to know how to read and write to properly use something as such as a tool.

I’m almost tempted to just leave T or C even though I would love to meander the Main street here. Maybe we will just stick it out for another night at least. I’ll purchase some cookie dough and ravioli’s to warm our bellies and bus. The problem I have with going back down to Las Cruces is that there isn’t a drop box for amazon so I could get my propane rack mounted. there is a Park here where I believe my extension chord could reach to the bus which would be great for minor working on it. On that note I should really check local market for a bike rack, a gray water tank, and that propane rack.
I do have plenty to do. I just get demotivated when the weather is poor and sidetracked when the weather is nice.
Loving you.
