Camping out

Last Night was horrid. Well, it started out delicious. We ate leftover red pasta sauce. It was so good I ate three bowls. I realized right after that I get heartburn to the point of puking, so I drank a cup of milk in hopes to negate the acid. My body also isn’t the best with milk, but I figured I’d rather poop my butt raw than wake up in the night to puke. The milk didn’t help. I still woke up spewing everywhere. and then in the morning my belly grumbled and my squeamed all together.

I still got up what seemed to me to be early. I grumbled through the morning trying to get my head straight. I stitched some more onto my Jacket and wire wrapped some Sudalite, but soon my head was too heavy and I had to lay down. This caused my tummy to kick me again but after that I fell asleep. Galixy first fell asleep in the car seat after I fell asleep but he came to cuddle me soon. So we napped while Atreyu kept busy playing with Orchid. I’m very grateful to have the company today. It would’ve been very disturbed sleep if they hadn’t been there. I mean, the beginning I couldn’t even doze right and I honestly think I didn’t actually sleep very long, but it was enough to get me refreshed so I could survive the rest of the afternoon.

We went into the Pools for a little while this evening. Atreyu is getting into holding his breath and doing swimming motions. Just a little more practice and I’ll have a fish as a son. Galixy isn’t willing to put his whole body in the pools. He says it’s too hot, so usually he sits with his feet on the step, sometimes his butt goes down onto that step, but not for long.

I began reading “Maiden Voyages” a book about female travelers. The Introduction in itself is very interesting. The author was in editing in the late 1980’s and helped publish a list of travel novels when she noticed an absence in female traveling novels and wondered why. She goes on to find different accounts of women who braved social constructs and ventured into the world. She remarks that womens’ world seems to be different than the one men roam, especially their experiences traveling.

As a woman traveling, and now writing, I feel that this book really needs to be read by me. Just the introduction makes me feel driven to write my experience more and better. I want people to know that we women, are just as capable and free as men. I used to toy around with the idea of dressing as a male and journaling my experience as a single father. Obviously it isn’t uncommon for a woman to dress as a man to avoid social constrictions. Though, it seems like a feasible idea, I really enjoy being a woman. I feel like I’ve been delving back into my femininity now that this 2nd child is getting bigger and independant. I get to have the time to brush my hair. I get to yell at the boys when they put their grubby paws onto my “nice” clothes.

The boys are watching a movie, though it’s getting late and all I want to do is sleep. I figured I’d write though, especially since my phone was off all day. The kitten gets to play with a big cat and he really seems to enjoy it. Orchid is also three years older than Atreyu so he gets frustrated as much as she does. Galixy runs along side them often, too. It’s nice to let them play and make friends. It’s also a little frustrating bringing multiple different sets of rules into a mix. Atreyu has been whiney and crying a lot, which hadn’t been the case for the last couple weeks. He’d been acting very mature for his age. The last couple of days though, not so much.

It is indeed time for the night to take me. I imagine a black mist cloaking me, enveloping me, pulling me gently off my feet and lifting me into the clouds to the moon and stars. Instead, it’ll be a night time smoke, some reading and cuddling.

Loving you!
