I woke up after snoozing in until 7:30 today. Big achievement in my book. I immediately set to cleaning and straightening everything in the bus. It’s looking mighty fine and has proven to be a wonderful set up!
This occupied me well until noon, at which point we headed to town. Galixy was ina terrible mood, though his fever had subsided. We stopped at the dollar store and hobby lobby to acquire some interior decorating things, before heading for our spot at the park.
The park was hardly any fun today. The boys went down to the water while I was putting up miscellaneous things, so they ended up being banned into the bus. Not wanting to have them sit by the park, we went to Safeway to out our fuel can and chill. George came by to chat, so I had him guard the kids in bugus while i ran to Ross to grab some minor trinkets to wrap up for the boys for Christmas.
After the sun went down, we went into Safeway pushing the kids in a car cart to purchased oranges and cloves and just happened to stumble upon battery powered twinkle lights! Woot! I put 5 gallons into the water jug. And off we went to BLM land.
Back in the spot we started this morning, atreyu had fallen asleep whilst Galixy was grumbling. I cooked us some noodles, lit candles, and untangled the strand of bells that are our twinkle lights. We’re 2 batteries short to set up both sets (I figure imma end up putting them along the ceiling in the bug once Christmas is over). Atreyu awoke through Galixy screams over some minor displeasure just in time for the noodles to be done.
The mood was mighty festive. I pulled out my merchandise box to use as a table and we all sat around enjoying our meal together, shooing off the kitten intermittently. After we ate, we stuck cloves into oranges for art, scent and learning. Then I gave us all a washcloth bath with essential oils. Galixy decided right after putting on his pajamas he was ready for bed, while atreyu wanted to stay up a little longer. He was occupied with the light up balloon we had discovered from last Christmas (the other one had popped earlier thanks to atreyu “stichling” Galixy to pop it) and he had carrot cake on his mind.
After I tucked him into bed, tummy full of cake, I came out into this full moon light. They forecast a meteor shower but it seems unlikely to catch with the brightness of the moon. Its chilly, but I’m comfy in my pink taco chair. I feel fulfilled and grateful. I’m probably gonna end up snuggling up and reading after putting my runes in the moonlight to charge. But first I want to recap my year:
- Yule is where the ant infestation started. Poof. Flashbacks. Jeremiah on board which lasted till right before new years.
- We met up with Galixy’s sisters and DiAnn and the boys and I had a wonderful lunch with my family long time friend Luke in Texas, before flocking the fluff out of the cold front.
- Headed to Tucson, visiting Jessica’s ranch and to Quartsite for lovely gems, Haley+entourage, and Poe. Met tons of people.
- Hung out around Tucson for gems how and pre-valentines day gathering humbug. Met up with Manny.
- Somewhere I re found sunny, a wonderful wingnut with the brightest smile. He’s loud and crazy. He was on and off my bus for a while, I wonder what he’s doing…
- Valentines day gathering was rife of rainbow fun and drama. I met Marissa and Lorena, the former I ended up caravanning with, but we were the trio for that gathering. Wreckless and his puppy ruthless. Both gone from this side. How it aches in my heart. Those eyes….
- Stupid hitchhiker Langley and the el Paso debacle.
- Deming. Atreyu’s birthday and Kenny’s heart attack. Also bus parts and labor ❤
- April was a lot of Moriarty NM and the 4/20 rainbow gathering.
- Texas visits with bus debacle at Kenny’s. I really enjoyed the company though that battery was a bitch.
- Tennessee and visiting my uncle Willard and auntJoanie. They are incredible. The love and humor they have for the boys makes me grateful.
- Ohio. Meet Kristen! Amazing! Known her for 4 years and the day we spent was like it was pre written, smooth and fun. Surprises around every corner.
- Peaches and his new family in Michigan ❤ plus bus door replacement.
- Illinois parked up for a week in DiAnn’s back yard, enjoying the crap out of Galixy having older sisters with a chill mom I can get along with.
- Iowa visiting with kacey andJason. In Minnesota we met up with TJ and had the honor of meeting Sabrina and seeing Looney again.
- North Dakota is one of my fave states cause it’s so bland and the people can be friendly. Also, Bismark zoo. Tups! Gotta add here, we went to like 15 zoos and wildlife preserves this year. I’m not a big fan of animals in cages, but most of these animals are beginning to be transferred into halfway habitats in their natural locations.
- Montana. Base. Few months chilling at Farmers market once a week and finding ways to keep busy while the kids get to visit “grosseltern”. Of course, I enjoy seeing my family, too, I just see that interaction as way more important to the boys. They need to know there are other people that love them consistently, not just me. Best days in montana definitely included going to the lake, the hotsprings, and the off the hook wedding with my brother
- Atreyu’s half birthday and we picked up Diddles.
- Fiji!! Weee! A ball. Long flights but time travel!!! The waterfall, the beach, the town, the people! I want to delve deeper into their culture outside of the tourist areas. Just another people, but what of their heritage has been capitalized on and which part is actually alive in the people? Like Kava. Apparently that’s their legal drug of choice but some people see the indulgers more as opiate addicts. Thoughts thoughts.
- Galixy’s birthday with black Forrest cherry cake and family ❤
- Off west and into Grant’s pass to visit with my brother some more before he joins a work game.
- Hitchhikers from close to Grant’s Pass to San fran. Cloud and Copper and then jump to Stockton.
- Month and a half of work on bugus. Doing dishes and chilling with Manny and his plethora of friends. China especially ❤
- Another visit with my brother, this time he came to see me 🙂 he helped with interior construction. Irina is so lovely to be around, too. Glad that she was still riding with him.
- Peaches jugs us out of stockton and into arizona.
The rest is here. What a long year, and always so much going on. I’m truly blessed and grateful to all inhabitants of this and all previous years.
I hope your longest night of the year is full of sweets. I hope when you look back on your year you see more positives than negatives. I hope I will continue growing along side the sprout of children I have the pleasure of observing. One experience, one day at a time.
10:30 after having observed a variety of chill spots in my bus and calmed a squirming Galixy, I’m finally up in my bed, Rhea tucked behind my legs, in a blanket burrito. I’m ready for more sweets and my book instead of this phone screen. Cars off in the distance (wish it was further than it actually is). Tired. Ready to get out of Lake Havasu City. Where to?
Loving you
